Had an awesome time with Captain Ian! We were fishing the inland waterways and had a great day catching some beautiful red drum and some nice-sized sheepshead (several not included in picture due to size requirements). We had a great morning out on the water with Capt. Shane aboard his Fin-Fisher charter boat. My wife doesnt do well out in the ocean or other rough body of water so Capt. This was my very first time fishing and my first charter trip and it couldn’t have been better. I went for a friend’s birthday, and Captain Ian truly made it special. He was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. As a complete beginner, I had lots of questions, and he answered them all patiently and without judgment. The scenery was beautiful, and I even caught a redfish! If you’re looking for a fishing charter in North Carolina, this is the one. Captain Ian made the day fun, relaxed, and unforgettable. Great experience today with Capt. Ian Killefer.  We had a 4 hr. intracoastal trip booked fishing for sheepshead and red fish.  New experience fishing for sheepshead. Fin-Fisher Charter Services was founded in 2015 by USCG approved Cap. Shane Britt. Fin-Fisher Charter Services was named after Captain Shane’s two son’s Finlynn (Fin) and Fisher. Capt. Shane Britt is fully licensed and insured in the state of North Carolina and fully certified in CPR and first aid. Capt. Shane comes from a generations of commercial fishermen in his family, and now one for himself since 2012. He spent most of his childhood on the water learning to navigate the backwaters of local Brunswick County waters. Capt. Shane has been a serious pleasure angler and tournament angler since he was in his early teens. Capt. Shane has competed and placed in many tournaments ranging from inshore flounder tournaments to offshore deep sea king mackerel tournaments.

Capt. Shane is best known for his hand made Bucktail fishing lures that he has been making since 2013. You can find Britts Bucktails in many of the local shops here on the coast and are favored by many of the local anglers. In 2014 he decided with his knowledge and passion it was time to make the move from commercial fisherman to charter boat Capt. We offer this trip in 2 different formats. 1/2 day (5 hours) or a full day (8 hours). On this trip you can expect a fun filled day navigating the winding rivers and shallow flats seeking flounder, speckled trout, and red drum. We will be using a variety of live bait and artificial baits. Please do remember this is fishing and the time of year will dictate the species of fish we will primarily target. This is a kid friendly trip, that they will have memories they can share for a lifetime.

NEARSHORE: Holden Beach Fishing Charters

We also offer Nearshore trips. Weather permitting. We offer this trip in 2 formats. 1/2 day (5 hours), full day (8 hours). This trip we will target multiple species of fish within site of land. Utilizing trolling or drifting techniques we will target blue fish, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, and cobia. Also, with some of the local artificial reefs right off our beaches we will bounce around to target flounder, speckled trout, gray trout, bull reds, and sharks. Please remember we can customize any trip to meet your needs. If at any time the captain feels it is becoming unsafe due to the weather we will retreat to the inshore waters to finish your trip out and prices will be adjusted.

We here at Fin-Fisher Charter Services are proud to offer flounder gigging charters in Holden Beach, NC. We are the only flounder gigging charter located here in Holden Beach & Brunswick county. This is an exciting trip, join us as we navigate the winding rivers and shallow flats in the dark of night locating flounder.

What is flounder gigging? In Holden Beach, NC Flounder gigging is done primarily at night by boat or if you so desire by wading in the water while utilizing a light source to see through the waters surface looking for flounder that are laying on the sea floor of the river and a gig (similar to a pitchfork) so you can sneak up and stick them. Here at Fin-Fisher Charter Services we choose to flounder gig in Holden Beach by boat. We use our gigging poles to maneuver around in the shallow depths from about inches to a couple of feet to look for these flounder at night. To make this possible we have 4 high pressure sodium lights that light the water up under even the darkest sky, this way we are able to see the fish. The lights are powered by a quiet near silent power inverter/generator so we can still hold a conversation on the bow of the boat. While gigging you will see all forms of sea life in its natural habitat. We offer this in a 4 hour trip (which is recommended), and a 4-6 hour trip is available. We can accommodate up to 2 people comfortably on this trip, but can add a 3rd for a additional $50.00 per trip. Flounder gigging trips rely on the tides and weather. Trips could be really early or quite late into the night. Feel free to contact Capt. Shane if you are interested in gigging, we will check the tides for the Holden Beach area and schedule your trip. Other species we will encounter and are able to gig are speckled trout, mullet, black drum and of course crabs. I ask that no open toe shoes are to be worn on this trip.
